Hello there! I’m Charyn.
I’ve been making & crafting for years and I can’t stop finding activities that continue to distract me to no end. Especially reading. Yes, I am a nerdy book junkie.
I’ve tried a plethora of hobbies over the years. Some stuck, some didn’t. My current main ones are stitching, embroidery, crocheting, knitting, mixed media art, occasional paper collaging, and sewing. I’m a historical junkie for textile history and am developing a growing love of both Victorian and Medieval history. I am currently adding punch needle and possibly chain maille making to the pile. I’ve got at least 10 projects (minimum) going at one time, a basket of clothes that need mending, upcycling or making. I keep notebooks full of projects where some stuff gets finished and others are just hanging out waiting. And, the ideas just don’t stop dropping in. Yeah, it’s a lot. But you know what they say: go big or go home .
I am a veteran. I have a B.S. in Public Health Education. I’m a Master Aromatherapist, sometimes Herbalist/Kitchen Witch, former massage therapist, writer/blogger, and budding surface pattern designer. There’s a bunch of other stuff in there but, meh.
I’ve experienced a nervous breakdown, depression, anxiety & chronic sadness stemming from early childhood traumas, which had me stuck in the past until recently. Now I’m learning to live in “the now”, where I can fully access my inner power, the power of transformation and discover who I really am without the trauma holding me in place.
I’ve worked at jobs I’ve hated and some I loved. Dealt with co-workers and bosses that were great and those that were horrible control freaks, drama queens/kings and totally sucked.
I love road trips, day trips, museums and places of art, beauty and culture. The mountains are my favorite, and I have a National Park Passport which I hope to fill up one day.
All of the pictures of stitched fabric are mine. Anything else will be labeled with it’s source information.
Come visit me. Sit, stitch & sip
